Where does the phone number owner information come from?
Phone-Detectives.com is a private search portal that allows you access to millions of records about mobile, cellular, landline and unlisted phone numbers. These records are collected from public records, data brokers, and other confidential sources using the Freedom of Information act.
Why are your services better than the competition?
Unlike many other websites you may come across, we deliver REAL OWNER INFORMATION. That means owner information for cellular phones, wireless phones, landlines, unlisted numbers, and many more. We find, collect, and license this information in a legal manner, which is how our database of phone number owners is so comprehensive.
We never say "Pending" on the search results, which is a sneaky "tactic" that some of our competitors use to give the impression that searched owner’s information is really there when it isn’t. We also include possible household members, neighbors and residents. We believe in providing a legitimate service and superior experience for the end user.
Do free reverse phone searches really exist?
You might come across "free phone search" posted on various websites, but most of them are just basic directories similar to the white pages. You see, landline numbers are published very openly through directories like the White Pages, and have been for a long time. Cellular phone & wireless numbers are still mostly private and not openly released to the public by phone companies. To obtain the owner information for cell phone or wireless numbers, you'll need to use a service like Phone-Detectives.com.
The search results you'll get from Phone-Detectives.com are much more comprehensive than what free phone lookup services or even the paid results the competition provides. Our search results are updated more frequently to include only the most up-to-date information available.
Is anyone ever notified when I search for them?
Absolutely Not. All of your searches in our vast database are strictly confidential.

Why do some search results come back as “unlisted”?
While Phone-Detectives.com has one of the largest database sources in the USA, containing information on hundreds of millions of U.S. phone numbers, it is inevitable that some owner records will be "unlisted", caused by a recent change to the number, carrier restrictions, or by an opt-out request from our databases.
Even when an owner's name comes back as unlisted, you'll usually find other results about the number, such as line type, carrier, issuing location, and more.

If you are interested in quickly & easily locating phone numbers, you can access our people search databases within the Members Area to retrieve landline numbers associated with someone.
